Whose idea was it to export american-style capitalism to China and India and unlock all that consumption so that we could all compete for too few resources?
And whose idea was it to export manufacturing jobs -- in favor of the service economy, which means jobs at Walmart.
And I know the stock market is way-up, but somehow I remember a day when AT&T, GE and GM each employed 100,000 people in the US. And between them Google, Apple, e-bay and the like employ, how many?
And it seems like when I was a kid, the bridges were painted and the highways were smooth. Hmm. Yes, there were toll booths.
Am I cranky?
