I'm thinking a lot about the jobless recovery - - and think that anything that destroys jobs is a bad thing.
1) In the old days they could build a small (highway) bridge in a matter of weeks - - using manpower. Now, with machines, and the basic principle that nothing-shall-be-lifted, it takes a crew of 3 and it takes years. Years. What's up with that.
2) I was driving home from Massachusetts and on a show on NPR, they were talking about Watson. Said that computers may replace some kinds of doctors - - since they diagnose as well. And the conversation went on to talk about the kinds of white collar jobs that could be 'supported' - - including lawyers. Doctors and Lawyers. Is this a good thing? Maybe. But I don't think it stops there.
3) Tell the kids to stay in school
