We need to spend more on Education

I was driving home from the railroad station listening to NPR.  (Please help fund NPR and tell your elected official that cutting NPR from the budget is wrong, and tell me it's about time I contributed again).

So, it seems that Wall Street bonuses this year are down as a percent of earned income.  But this year the amount paid in stock incentives went up.  So taxes revenue is down in NY.  So the guy commented that it was a good thing, that the tax revenues are down because then the state government won't be as dependent on wall street.......he went on, "as long as we cut policemen and teachers"

WTF.  Wall street pays out more, some of which is in the form of stock incentives, which lowers the tax revenue - - and all of sudden its good to cut teachers and policemen.

Has anyone noticed that we are lagging behind other countries in education.  We need to spend more on education. Or we will loose in the global economy.

Anyway,
