Three paintings, plus, second time through

My Office

We built an 8' by 8' room which I am using as my office.  I thought a washer and dryer would be a good idea, and so they are in a closet in the office.  And that's an ironing board between the two of them.  I haven't used it yet, but am glad it's there so I don't need to go to the basement to wash the clothes.  Though I like the basement

The office has a daybed that used to be my son's until he outgrew it.  And the pictures on the wall include a red painting on paper that I did the summer of my Junior year on Cranbury Island off the coast of Maine, and a couple of drawings from my days at Yale, and one of my room-mate after college.  The Painting in the silver frame is from my days at Columbia.  And the photos are of my children (or parts thereof).

The geometric drawing above the window is from the Whitney independent study program, circa 1976.  The painting is from early days in New York, probably 1985.  And the drawing below is of the Vatican, circa 1971, from when I was in Rome.
The blue painting on paper is the partner of the red one, actually one of a couple dozen color studies.  And the painting of salt & pepper shakers and a matchbook is from a friend at Yale.  The tempura painting below it is from my second visit to Cranbury Island in 1976 during the bicentenial.

A retrospective of sorts!

It's been a while since I saw a UFO

It's not every day that you see a UFO.

Max, the best dog ever

Max was our family's dog for about 10 years, from around 1960 to 1970.  Best dog ever.  Things that were great about Max in addition to his ultimate largeness in size and spirit, and incredible canine handsomeness (his shepherd markings were black and 'silver'), included, his good company (always ready to watch any TV show, eat any food, or play any game).  He covered the outfield, when I played softball very poorly - - and leapt into action to chase or catch any ball, often on the fly.  He loved to sail and swim, and would swim the width of the lake, if we left him behind, and climb, all wet, onto the sunfish for the rest of the sail.  Max was simply the best dog ever.
